What is Berggi?
Berggi is FREE software to read and send email, to chat with your IM (messenger, yahoo, gtalk, ICQ...) and to send and receive text messages.
Also in some countries, Berggi offers FREE:
Live matches (Cricket, Soccer )
Breaking News, Finance, Gossip... and MORE.
What does my cell phone need to use Berggi?
Berggi works in all countries and it´s available in many languages.
Your cell phone only needs an Internet (GPRS) connection and JAVA.
Most cell phones are compatible with Berggi. The only exceptions are: Blackberry, Trio, Pocket Pc´s or some PDA´s

Is Berggi FREE?
Berggi is FREE! You are not charged for downloading it.
The user only pays their telephone service provider (not Berggi) when they are connected to the Internet with their cell phone. It´s like when we read our email on the computer. Hotmail is FREE, but we have to pay for the internet connection.
Berggi´s benefits
Berggi is compatible with MOST COMMON CELL PHONES. The user doesn´t need to buy an expensive cell phone.
The user can configure many different EMAIL ACCOUNTS, and different Instant Messaging services (MSN, Yahoo, Gtalk, ICQ and AIM). Everything is on the same interface.
The user can use Berggi EVEN IF HE/SHE CHANGES HIS/HER PHONE. They just need to download the application again.
Berggi uses it´s own technology to SAVE BANDWITH and reduce internet connection expenses. Berggi downloads messages up to 4 Kb and afterwards it is the user who decides if they want to completely download them or not.
Berggi is VERY USEFUL for traveling users, whether they are on holiday or just not home, when they want to contact friends without spending money on calls or on SMS.
Common errors
If Berggi shows these kind of messages or similar :
- Not available. Try it again later.
- Error/! Failed Connection.
Check:
- If your registered data (prefix, cell phone number, berggi password) is correct.
- Your cell phone is JAVA.
- If the Internet GPRS is configured on your phone
- That you have GPRS coverage.
- Berggi is FREE but you need to connect to Internet , which is billed through your service provider. Check that you have balance.
- Check if your phone has enough memory

How do I download Berggi?
There are 3 different ways to download Berggi:
 From our website, entering your phone number and your country. From our website, you can also add your email and IM accounts so you can use them from your cell phone. |
 Enter on your cell phone browser: berggi.com/b.jad . The download will start. The only charge will be from your service provider for the internet connection. Berggi doesn´t charge anything. |
 Download Berggi in your computer from www.berggi.com/b.jar Send this file from your computer to your phone via Bluetooth. This way you pay nothing. |
Where is the cell phone browser?
Cell phone browser´s location depends on the brand and model of your phone. Normally, there is one icon with the label: web or internet. 
NOKIA
Main menu: "Web" (world icon) > "Goto > Enter the URL www.berggi.com/b.jad .
SONY ERICSSON:
* Main menu: Select Internet Services.
* Enter the URL.
SAMSUNG
Main menu > (world icon" > "Enter URL" > www.berggi.com/b.jad

Where is Berggi downloaded?
After the download, our application will be installed on your phone. You can use it when you want. Normally, your phone will tell you where Berggi was downloaded. It can be in the Games or Applications folders but it depends on your phone.
To use Berggi, find the Berggi icon.
How to configure Berggi?
First time you open Berggi, it will ask if you are a New User or Registered User.
NEW BERGGI USER:
If you are not registered on our website:
- Phone: Example: 666777888
- Country code (prefix): España:+34 , USA +1, etc.
- Password(*): Create your Berggi password
- Nickname: To chat
EXISTING BERGGI USER :
If your are not registered on our website
- Phone: Ej.. 666777888
- Country code (prefix)
- Password (*): We sent you after the web registration.
(*) Password is case sensitive.
If you register via Web in Spain you will receive a WAP Link which allows you to download Berggi already configured, so you won´t have to fill out your information.
How to configure internet GPRS/WAP?
Your cell phone needs a GPRS/WAP connection to connect to internet and use Berggi´s services (email, IM, alerts...).
We will explain to you how to configure a GRPS internet connection on your cell phone in case you don´t already have it done.
Nokia: Nokia has an autoconfiguration system. Just follow the instructions to install “ Internet GRPS or Wap”.
Sony-Ericsson: Sony-Ericsson has an autoconfiguration system. Just follow the instructions to install “Internet GRPS or Wap”.

How can I change my Berggi password?
Enter on www.berggi.com and type your cell phone number and Berggi password. You can change your password on your profile.
REMEMBER: If you change your Berggi password on the website, you must also change it on your cell phone (Berggi menu, My personal info).
I don't remember my Berggi password
Send an email to supportusa@berggi-inc.com including the phone number that you used to register with Berggi and we will reply with intructions on how to get your password.
REMEMBER: The password is case sensitive.
How can I add my email accounts?
You can add your email accounts in two different ways:

In these two examples you only have to write the address and put in your password in order to gain access. If you want to use your business email, you will also need to configure the POP3 or SMTP for the account. If you don't know them, ask your email administrator.
What kind of email accounts can I configure in Berggi?
Use any email account you have:
- Add your Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail (don't forget POP activation), Terra… accounts
- If you want to also use your company or university email, just enter your: POP3 o SMTP. If you dont know them, ask your email administrator.
How many email accounts can I configure?
Berggi has no limits. You can configure all your email accounts.
In POP accounts you will need to configure the POP3 or SMTP for the account. Your account administrator has this information.
How can I activate the POP service?
Some email providers require that you activate the POP service (Gmail, Yahoo, ...):
- Login
- Select Configure of your POP service provider:
- Activate the POP service
If I import my emails to Berggi, can I keep them in my original account?
You will keep your emails in your original account, even if you delete them from Berggi. Importing your email to Berggi doesn´t mean that they will be deleted from your original account.
Advice
Delete your emails from Berggi often (they will not be deleted in your original email account). Your phone does not have the same amount of memory that your computer has.
When the memory on your phone is full Berggi stops downloading emails. This way you can delete the emails you have read and continue to download the new ones.
How can I configure Berggi to chat?
You can configure your IM accounts in two different ways:

In both of the examples you only have to enter your IM chat accounts and your password in order to start using them.
If you have added an alias in My Profile, it will be the one you use for your chats.
All of your contacts from your IM accounts will be imported automatically
on to your cell phone. In Berggi IM (“Chat”) you will be able to see which one of your friends is connected or not. It can take a few minutes from the time you enter Berggi until you see them.
From this option you can Chat with your connected friends.
What kind of IM accounts can I configure?
You can use the most popular IM services:
MSN, Yahoo, Gtalk (Gmail), AIM and ICQ.
What happens if I want to cancel Berggi?
Just delete Berggi on the menu option of your cell phone. Berggi is FREE. You can delete it when you want.
What can I do if I change or lose my phone?
If you lose your phone, just change your Berggi password on www.berggi.com.
Download Berggi into your new phone. You will not have lost any information (email or contacts).
